Senior Methodology Engineer – Aluminum Recycling

About the role

The Senior Methodology Engineer will lead the development, standardisation and continuous improvement of metallurgical and operational methodologies across aluminium recycling, melting, alloying, casting and downstream processes. You will act as the technical authority, supporting commissioning, ramp‑up, troubleshooting and ongoing optimisation to enhance product quality, metal recovery, energy efficiency, safety and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve operating methodologies for scrap handling, furnace operations, alloying, fluxing, casting and product handling.
• Create and update SOPs, work instructions and process standards aligned with industry best practices.
• Lead optimisation studies to boost yield, productivity, product quality, energy consumption and environmental performance.
• Provide technical support to operations, maintenance and quality teams; analyse process data and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
• Conduct root‑cause analyses and corrective actions for quality deviations, metal losses, process instability and furnace abnormalities.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and other improvement tools to enhance process capability and benchmark performance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in aluminium recycling and metallurgical process engineering.
• Proven track record of developing and standardising process methodologies in an industrial setting.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret large data sets and identify improvement opportunities.
• Hands‑on experience with furnace operations, charging practices and dross management.
• Commitment to safety, environmental compliance and ESG reporting.
