Senior Reinsurance Facultative Broker – Property & Engineering

About the role

The Senior Reinsurance Broker – Property & Engineering is responsible for structuring, negotiating and placing facultative reinsurance solutions for clients across property and engineering lines of business. The role combines strong technical expertise with market relationships to deliver advisory services and optimal placement outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with clients and external parties to understand business needs and risk profiles.
• Negotiate and place risks with underwriters, explaining quotations, underwriting, scope of cover and policy terms.
• Structure and place facultative reinsurance placements in line with client requirements.
• Prepare underwriting submissions, slips and placement documentation.
• Review and negotiate policy wordings and coverage terms.
• Maintain ongoing client and market relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Support colleagues in client relationship management and market development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, insurance, business administration or related field.
• Relevant CII qualifications (e.g., Certificate) are desirable.
• Strong analytical and negotiation abilities.
• Commitment to compliance with group policies, local regulatory requirements and continuous professional development.
• Ability to manage workflow, allocate tasks and drive continuous improvement.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of property risks (industrial, commercial, energy).
• Expertise in engineering insurance (CAR, EAR, MB, ALOP/DSU).
• Understanding of facultative and treaty reinsurance structures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry systems such as Crystal, SARB, Twins and Lloyd’s QA tool.
