Senior SAM Developer

About the role

The Senior SAM Developer designs, develops, configures, and maintains ServiceNow Software Asset Management solutions to enable effective software lifecycle management, license compliance, optimization, and cost control. The role collaborates with SAM teams, IT Operations, Procurement, Security, Architecture, business stakeholders, and external vendors to translate requirements into scalable ServiceNow SAM implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow SAM solutions.
• Implement and enhance SAM Professional capabilities based on business and compliance needs.
• Configure software models, publishers, products, entitlements, license metrics, and installations.
• Develop solutions for license compliance, reconciliation, optimization, and lifecycle management.
• Configure workflows, approvals, business rules, notifications, and automation supporting SAM processes.
• Create and maintain custom applications, scripts, UI components, and platform configurations.
• Ensure solutions follow ServiceNow best practices and remain upgrade‑safe.
• Support platform upgrades and guarantee customizations are upgrade‑compatible.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with ServiceNow SAM Professional and platform development.
• Proven ability to lead technical delivery across the full SAM solution lifecycle.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams such as IT Operations, Procurement, and Security.
