Senior Shift Engineer

About the role

The Senior Shift Engineer leads the plant’s shift team to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations of a modern power generation and desalination facility. The role involves making timely decisions on process performance, coordinating with operations and maintenance, and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage safety, quality and environmental compliance, including IMS certification and audit readiness.
• Lead day‑to‑day plant operations, ensuring shifts are fully staffed and resources are available.
• Coordinate routine, preventive and predictive maintenance activities with the maintenance team.
• Monitor quality, address defects and oversee work order execution.
• Support critical maintenance tasks and help resolve recurring technical issues.
• Set performance objectives for the team, conduct regular reviews and provide coaching and development.
• Maintain and update SOPs and operational instructions to ensure consistent work practices.
• Prepare and track the operational budget, including chemicals and seawater requirements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and communication abilities with a strong drive and high motivation.
• Experience operating modern process plants in power generation and desalination environments.
• Ability to work independently, make accurate decisions and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
