Senior Tech Manager Backend (Node.js)

About the role

Globant is looking for a Senior Tech Manager Backend (Node.js) to lead the design and delivery of high‑performance backend systems that power scalable digital experiences for our global clients. You will shape technical vision, mentor engineers, and ensure the platform meets demanding reliability and scalability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical vision and backend architecture for large‑scale digital products, aligning with global engineering standards.
• Drive development of robust services using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS, emphasizing clean code and maintainability.
• Architect complex data models with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and implement advanced GraphQL schemas.
• Oversee deployment and orchestration of services with Docker and Kubernetes in AWS environments.
• Set testing standards using Jest, conduct deep code reviews, and provide technical mentorship.
• Lead design of agentic workflows and integrations between backend services, external APIs, and front‑end interfaces.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into production‑ready roadmaps.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional backend engineering experience, including managerial or technical‑lead roles.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Hands‑on experience with NestJS, Express.js, and microservices or event‑driven architectures.
• Strong mastery of PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.
• Proven experience with AWS cloud services and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of API design with GraphQL and REST.
• Expertise in automated testing frameworks, especially Jest.
• Experience building real‑time, high‑concurrency backend systems.
