Senior/Staff Data Engineer (BI) – Customer Experience Group

About the role

Agoda is looking for a Senior/Staff Data Engineer to join the Customer Experience Group (CEG). You will design, build and maintain data pipelines, models and internal tools that power CEG’s business users across all contact channels.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting data from case management, telephony, chat, bots, CRM and third‑party tools.
• Develop and optimise data models, warehouse tables, marts and views for reporting, monitoring and forecasting.
• Implement data quality, validation, anomaly detection and observability for critical CEG datasets.
• Create data tools and internal products (dashboards, alerting systems, investigator tools) using Python, Java, Golang or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Partner with product and business teams to translate operational problems into data solutions and build self‑service analytics.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer or Data Analyst.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions and query optimisation.
• Experience with a major data‑warehouse or big‑data technology (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Hive, Spark).
• Proficiency with ETL/ELT orchestration tools such as Airflow and dbt.
• Programming expertise in Python, Java, Golang or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands‑on experience building production‑grade data pipelines and services with monitoring and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with BI/visualisation tools like Tableau, Power BI, Superset, Metabase or Looker.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
