SHE Engineer

About the role

The SHE Engineer will support Unilever’s Zero Harm ambition at the Jeddah factory by implementing SHE standards, ensuring compliance with Saudi regulations, and fostering a strong safety culture across all shifts and production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and sustain Unilever SHE standards and local legal requirements (risk assessments, permits‑to‑work, LOTO, machine safety, contractor management).
• Lead or support SHE risk assessments such as JHAs, HAZOPs, and ergonomics studies, and ensure timely closure of actions.
• Coordinate incident and near‑miss reporting, investigations and learning; track corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor SHE KPIs (injuries, near misses, audits, inspections) and drive continuous‑improvement plans.
• Deliver SHE inductions, training, coaching and toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
• Support new projects and capex initiatives to embed “SHE by design”.
• Participate in internal and external audits, maintaining compliance with Unilever and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Production, Engineering, Maintenance and HR to embed SHE in daily operations.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or a SHE‑related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in SHE or HSE roles within a manufacturing/factory environment.
• Knowledge of Saudi occupational safety, health and environmental regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and data‑driven decision‑making abilities.
• Effective communication, coaching and influencing skills across all levels and shifts.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
