Site Civil Engineer

About the role

The Site Civil Engineer will ensure large‑scale construction projects are delivered in line with contractual, technical and quality requirements. You will monitor construction activities, coordinate with contractors and consultants, and oversee sub‑team performance to keep the project on schedule and to specification.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor construction work to verify compliance with contract requirements and technical specifications.
• Identify performance gaps, propose corrective actions and coordinate with all parties to align outcomes with project deliverables.
• Review construction progress, quality control reports and daily reports.
• Supervise local engineers and other site staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and capabilities.
• Manage the flow of RFIs, shop drawing submittals and related consultant responses, tracking timing, quality and re‑submission rates.
• Verify that contractors have the correct drawings and data for the work at hand.
• Ensure compliance with approved method statements and monitor inspection quality and timeliness.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in site supervision on large‑scale (mega) projects.
• Extensive on‑site experience within a supervision team.
• Working knowledge of contract conditions and strong commercial awareness.
• Computer literate with the ability to manage documentation and reporting.
• Leadership, negotiation and team‑building capabilities.
