Site Manager – High Voltage Substations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead the execution of high‑voltage (380kV) substation projects from mobilisation through to client hand‑over. You will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site operations for HV/EHV substation projects, managing the full project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors and internal teams to meet baseline milestones.
• Administer EPC contracts, optimise resource allocation and minimise risk.
• Monitor site performance and produce daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Oversee installation of power transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, circuit breakers, control panels and auxiliary systems.
• Review and approve work method statements, single‑line diagrams, layout drawings and Inspection & Testing Plans.
• Enforce QA/QC protocols and ensure all works follow Issued‑for‑Construction (IFC) plans.
• Supervise pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities, maintaining up‑to‑date as‑built documentation.
• Implement strict HSE policies, conduct safety inspections and manage risk assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
• Minimum 10 + years experience in construction and management of high‑voltage transmission substations.
• Deep knowledge of substation systems, protection schemes and control systems.
• Familiarity with local utility codes and inspection frameworks.
• Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
