Site Reliability Engineering SRE Consultant – Splunk / Instana / AppDynamics

About the role

The SRE Consultant – Observability & APM designs, implements, and optimizes large‑scale observability and application performance monitoring platforms. You will ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and availability of mission‑critical enterprise systems across hybrid and cloud‑native environments.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and operate enterprise‑grade observability and APM platforms (Splunk, Instana, AppDynamics) in on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid settings.
• Define and manage SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to uphold platform reliability.
• Lead performance analysis, troubleshooting, and root‑cause investigations for complex application and platform issues.
• Create and maintain dashboards, alerts, health rules, and analytics use cases for end‑to‑end visibility.
• Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and scalability assessments for observability platforms.
• Drive automation using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Integrate observability tools with ITSM, CI/CD pipelines, SIEM, and incident‑management systems.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to SRE, DevOps, and operations teams.
• Advise engineering and leadership on observability best practices and platform strategy.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, standards, and runbooks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in SRE, IT Operations, DevOps, or application performance/observability roles.
• Proven hands‑on experience with at least one of Splunk, Instana, or AppDynamics in large‑scale enterprise environments.
