Social Media Specialist (On-site)

About the role

We are seeking an organised, proactive and creative Social Media Specialist to work on‑site at Knowledge Economic City (KEC) in Madinah. The role acts as the primary liaison between the KEC Marketing team and the broader social media team, ensuring that stories, events, projects and milestones across the destination are identified, captured and shared effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the day‑to‑day point of contact for the KEC Marketing team.
• Attend meetings, coordinate requests and approvals, and keep timelines on track.
• Identify newsworthy projects, events, launches and milestones across KEC.
• Coordinate content shoots, site access, schedules and permissions.
• Support live social media coverage during events and activations.
• Build strong relationships with internal departments, tenants and partners.
• Gather information, updates and creative assets for content development.
• Monitor online conversations and coordinate responses according to approved guidelines.
• Escalate sensitive matters when necessary.
• Track content performance and contribute to weekly and monthly reports.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience in social media, marketing or communications.
• Agency experience is a strong advantage.
• Native‑level Arabic writing skills and fluency in English.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Confidence working with marketing teams and senior leadership.
• Sound judgement regarding tone, cultural sensitivity and Madinah’s significance.
• Proactive, dependable and comfortable working independently with a remote wider team.

• Regular presence across KEC sites and occasional travel within Saudi Arabia.
