Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time, on‑site Software Engineer to join Saudi Aquaculture Systems Factory Company (SAQUA) in Riyadh. The role focuses on designing, developing and maintaining software solutions that support aquaculture operations and internal business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Implement back‑end features and APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable code and conduct code reviews.
• Resolve technical issues and debug software.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Integrate software with hardware or external systems when required.
• Participate in testing, performance optimisation and documentation.
• Continuously improve development practices.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in computer‑science principles (algorithms, data structures, software design).
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python).
• Hands‑on experience in back‑end web development, building APIs, working with databases and third‑party services.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming for scalable systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience with unit, integration and system testing, and debugging techniques.
• Ability to work on‑site in Riyadh, collaborate with diverse teams and adapt to evolving project requirements.
• Experience with cloud platforms, containerisation or DevOps tools is a plus.
• Interest or experience in industrial, manufacturing or aquaculture‑related systems is a plus.
