System Engineer – RAPIDRanger

About the role

The RapidRanger System Engineer will support the Maintenance & Technical Support Department and the client throughout the maintenance contract. The role involves ensuring the RAPIDRanger system remains operationally ready by monitoring performance, diagnosing faults and implementing corrective actions both locally and with the UK support team.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and assist in all aspects of RAPIDRanger system specialty.
• Monitor and analyse operational availability, system performance and support chain metrics.
• Evaluate performance of RAPIDRanger, data handling and communication equipment.
• Monitor Built‑In Test (BITE) software, analyse results and recommend improvements.
• Perform intermediate level field maintenance, diagnostic checks, troubleshooting and repair.
• Isolate complex electronic problems across hardware, software and LRUs using diagnostics and test equipment.
• Support Mobile Maintenance Team, travel to remote sites for software maintenance, troubleshooting and on‑the‑job training.
• Coordinate with European contractor experts to resolve issues beyond local capability.
• Transfer knowledge and provide guidance to Saudi technicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Weapon Technology.
• 3‑5 years experience in operation and maintenance of weapon systems and associated communication equipment.
• Hands‑on experience with safety management units, power distribution modules, Ethernet switches, control electronics, power conditioning, system command & control, and LMM missiles in field handling containers.
• Familiarity with weapon system LRUs such as stabilized sight heads, turrets, panniers, and automatic missile interface units.
• Experience working in multicultural, matrix‑organised environments with customer interaction.
• Strong scripting and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Fluent English; French is an advantage.
