Telemedicine Endocrinology Registrar

About the role

This position is for a physician in advanced training who will deliver specialist endocrine and metabolic care through virtual platforms. Working under consultant supervision, the registrar will combine clinical expertise with digital health tools to provide safe, patient‑centred telemedicine services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct remote consultations for acute, chronic and complex endocrine conditions using video, phone and secure messaging.
• Assess, diagnose and manage patients, ensuring safe prescribing and appropriate use of digital monitoring devices.
• Provide continuity of care for long‑term conditions such as diabetes, hypothyroidism and osteoporosis, monitoring adherence via remote patient‑monitoring systems.
• Develop and adjust personalized treatment plans, including medication management, referrals and lifestyle advice.
• Document all encounters meticulously in electronic health records and coordinate multidisciplinary case discussions via telehealth.
• Participate in telemedicine‑driven endocrine programmes, quality‑improvement projects and value‑based care initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical doctor qualified and registered to practise.
• Physician in postgraduate training (registrar level) with a focus on endocrinology.
• Ability to work under consultant supervision and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to telehealth regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with telehealth platforms (video, phone, secure messaging).
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Familiarity with remote patient‑monitoring devices and digital health data interpretation.
