Tool Room Technician

About the role

The Tool Room Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing tools, molds, and related accessories in a plastics manufacturing environment. You will ensure that all required materials, spare parts, and equipment are available on time, supporting uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and servicing of tools, molds, and accessories.
• Maintain adequate stock of spare parts and ensure timely ordering and receipt of materials.
• Keep accurate documentation for tool receipt, issue, and orders; maintain daily logs per SOPs.
• Maintain a clean and organized stockroom following 5S standards.
• Assist with equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate corrective actions with the maintenance manager.
• Support change‑over teams and follow production schedules to minimize impact on machine efficiency.
• Safeguard maintenance hand tools and equipment, and ensure compliance with SOPs and safety procedures.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience with plastics blow‑molding or injection‑molding equipment, molds, and accessories.
• At least 3‑5 years of maintenance experience, including mechanical troubleshooting.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in a related technical field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Required skills

• Welding, lathe, milling, grinding, and drilling machine operation.
• Mold making and troubleshooting.
• Use of maintenance software for data entry and parts research.
• Basic office computer software proficiency.
• Good written and spoken English communication.
