Vector/Pest Controller - PSAB Program, KSA

About the role

KBR is hiring a Vector/Pest Controller for its PSAB program at Prince Sultan Air Base in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The program delivers BASE OPERATING SUPPORT-INSTALLATION (BOS-I) services to the 378th Air Expeditionary Wing, mission partners and tenant units, including transient, TDY, permanent party and rotational personnel, as well as five remote Army sites. The pest controller performs integrated pest management, surveys and controls plant and animal pests, and coordinates with medical activities to control health hazards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect buildings, land and surroundings for infestation and determine pest management actions
• Spray chemicals, lay poison bait, set mechanical traps or apply other treatments
• Clean areas harbouring pests to prepare them for fumigation
• Implement and develop pest management plans in line with USAF-approved AFIs
• Keep work locations covered by an effective Integrated Pest Management plan and adequate inventories, requesting supplies from USAF when stocks are low
• Control OCN personnel escorting during work hours and ensure customer satisfaction
• Perform routine tasks under direct supervision and deliver services to 4,000 personnel, plus or minus 10%
• Use radios, cell phones and laptops to maintain contact and accountability; work indoors and outdoors, with possible overtime, shifts and travel

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of licensed pest control experience
• Preferred: USAF AFSC 3E4X3 Pest Management or similar military/DOD MOS, and completion of that school or an equivalent DOD school
• Valid DoD certification in categories 6, 7 and 8, or a valid state certified applicator license with DoD equivalence
• U.S. citizen with a current U.S. driver's license and a passport book with at least 13 months of validity and 6 blank visa pages
• Valid U.S. SECRET security clearance maintained throughout the contract
• Fluent reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English; meets CENTCOM MOD-15 theater requirements
• Ability to lift up to 35 lb alone and 50 lb with a team, and to work in a wartime or contingency environment

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
• Knowledge of government contracts and experience in contingency environments preferred
