Windows Server Administrator

About the role

The L3 Windows Server Administrator is the technical subject‑matter expert for Windows Server platforms, responsible for complex troubleshooting, major incident handling, and the overall upgrade and patching strategy. The role works directly with customers on‑site in Saudi Arabia and requires strong ownership and decision‑making under pressure.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the escalation point for complex Windows Server issues and lead deep‑dive investigations.
• Design, plan, and govern server patching using ManageEngine, including compliance reporting.
• Own and execute server upgrades, lifecycle management, and remediation plans.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for file servers, shared folders, access control, and data availability.
• Handle Exchange Server issues and coordinate with messaging teams when required.
• Perform root‑cause analysis for recurring or critical incidents.
• Support major incidents, outages, and high‑severity production problems.
• Maintain server inventory, baseline configurations, and technical documentation.
• Review and approve operational changes related to Windows infrastructure.
• Mentor L2 engineers and guide best‑practice troubleshooting.

• Strong problem‑ownership mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Leadership attitude, capable of mentoring junior engineers.
• Excellent coordination and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Saudi Arabia and provide shift, on‑call, and escalation support.

Required skills

• Hands‑on expertise with Windows Server 2016, 2019 and newer versions.
• Deep knowledge of Windows OS troubleshooting, performance, and stability.
• Experience with server patching automation and management using ManageEngine.
• Solid understanding of file‑server administration, shared folders and permissions architecture.
• Good technical understanding of Exchange Server architecture and troubleshooting.
• Experience in production environments with strict SLA requirements.
