Accountant – Payables Section

About the role

Our client, a reputable construction company based in Riyadh, is seeking an experienced Accountant for the Payables Section. The role will manage all accounts payable activities, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments while complying with Saudi VAT and ZATCA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Process and manage accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, payments and reconciliations.
• Review and verify invoices, purchase orders and supporting documents before payment.
• Prepare payment runs in line with company approval authorities and agreed terms.
• Perform three‑way matching of purchase orders, delivery notes and invoices.
• Reconcile vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies and monitor ageing reports.
• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and ZATCA requirements.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities related to payables.
• Coordinate with auditors and internal departments as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• 6‑8 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting, preferably within the construction and contracting sector.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi VAT and ZATCA compliance.
• Excellent command of English; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP, Oracle or Odoo ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel for reporting and data analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with accounts payable processing.
• Understanding of VAT compliance (ZATCA).
