API Connect Designer / Architect (On‑Site)

About the role

Valleysoft is seeking an experienced API Connect Designer / Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise‑grade API management solutions. You will shape the architecture, standards, and governance for secure, scalable, and reliable API ecosystems across complex integration landscapes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect API platforms using IBM API Connect, ensuring high availability and security.
• Define and govern the full API lifecycle, from design to retirement.
• Establish enterprise API standards, naming conventions, and reusable patterns.
• Implement API security policies, including authentication, authorization, rate limiting, throttling, and mTLS.
• Configure and manage API Gateway policies and security mechanisms.
• Design integrations with internal applications, external systems, and third‑party services.
• Develop and enforce API governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, cybersecurity, and DevOps teams to align API solutions with broader enterprise architecture.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience (120 months) in API design, architecture, or integration.
• Proven expertise in enterprise‑level API management and governance.
• Strong understanding of security protocols, IAM solutions, and microservices integration.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable API solutions.
