Assistant Boat Captain

About the role

The Assistant Boat Captain supports the safe and efficient operation of dive centre vessels at Red Sea Sports & Entertainment. Working side‑by‑side with the Boat Captain, the role ensures vessels are ready, compliant and welcoming for guests while contributing to the overall marine tourism experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Boat Captain in navigation and daily operation of all dive centre vessels.
• Prepare vessels each day, checking safety equipment, cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Handle mooring, anchoring, docking and general vessel handling as directed.
• Support dive centre logistics, including cylinder handling, equipment loading/unloading and organization.
• Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness and order of vessels.
• Assist with guest embarkation and disembarkation, ensuring safe diver drop‑offs and pick‑ups.
• Monitor onboard safety conditions and report any risks to the Boat Captain.
• Maintain vessel logs, checklists and daily operational records.
• Conduct routine safety equipment checks and report deficiencies.
• Support pre‑opening setup of marine assets and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Willingness to work closely with the Boat Captain and follow instructions.
• Strong focus on safety, guest experience and vessel readiness.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, loading equipment and handling mooring lines.
• Familiarity with basic marine navigation routes and dive site conditions is a plus.
