Assistant Manager - Cloud Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Cloud Operations will support the daily operation, reliability, governance, security, and cost‑optimization of Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform environments. You will work closely with infrastructure, security, application, service‑desk teams, vendors and business stakeholders to keep cloud services stable, secure and aligned with business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor cloud health, availability, performance, capacity and incidents across Azure and GCP.
• Implement and maintain SRE practices: reliability monitoring, incident response, root‑cause analysis and automation.
• Manage incident response, service requests, escalations and change management for cloud services.
• Enforce cloud governance, policies, tagging, compliance controls and documentation.
• Optimize cloud cost through usage reviews, rightsizing, reserved capacity and resource cleanup.
• Coordinate with vendors, managed service providers and internal teams to resolve operational issues.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, high‑availability and business‑continuity activities.
• Maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams and knowledge‑base articles.
• Assist with cloud security operations: IAM reviews, network security, patching, vulnerability remediation, encryption and access governance.
• Drive automation and Infrastructure‑as‑Code adoption using Terraform.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in cloud operations, cloud engineering, infrastructure operations or SRE.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, compute, storage, monitoring, backup, security and high‑availability concepts.
• Experience with incident, problem, change and service‑request management processes.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and SRE principles.
