Associate Director - Building Structures

About the role

WSP is seeking an Associate Director to lead the structural engineering function for large‑scale building projects across Saudi Arabia. You will provide strategic technical oversight, act as a senior client advisor, and drive innovative, sustainable design solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering across multiple complex building projects, ensuring design excellence, safety and quality.
• Provide senior client advisory, building strong stakeholder relationships and delivering trusted technical guidance.
• Manage and grow strategic client accounts, identifying repeat‑business opportunities.
• Support business development through client engagement, networking and preparation of proposals, bids and presentations.
• Oversee resource planning, budgets, commercial performance and delivery schedules to maintain profitability.
• Champion innovation in digital engineering, advanced structural analysis and sustainable solutions.
• Mentor senior engineers and project leaders, fostering a collaborative technical culture.
• Represent WSP at client meetings, industry conferences and professional forums.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, quality assurance, regulatory standards, risk management and project controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation highly desirable.
• 20+ years of experience in structural engineering, including leadership of major building projects.
• Proven track record delivering high‑value, complex developments within consultancy environments.
• Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large‑scale contracts.
