Automation Senior Engineer

About the role

The Automation Senior Engineer will provide technical support for automated material handling equipment in warehouses and distribution centers. You will troubleshoot complex electrical and electronic issues, ensure system uptime, and drive continuous improvement across the automation landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Modify and repair interfaces between PLCs and Material Flow Systems to keep production running.
• Diagnose and replace faulty components such as sensors, scanners, visualization systems, motors, frequency inverters and encoders.
• Identify root causes of production errors and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Collaborate with external software developers, internal teams and onsite staff to maximise system availability.
• Analyse daily operation reports, design test scenarios and propose improvement initiatives.
• Develop and deliver user training, update help‑desk tickets and produce system manuals for induction.
• Manage external suppliers and subcontractors to optimise performance.
• Monitor machine performance, generate daily reports for management and represent Nahdi in international automation forums.

Required profile

• 2‑year degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5‑7 years of experience with PLCs.NET, Siemens S7 PLCs and SEW motors/drives.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AUTOCAD or E‑Plan.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
