Business Development Engineer – Power & Energy

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Engineer to expand DAR Engineering’s presence in the Power and Energy sector in Saudi Arabia. The role combines technical credibility in power generation, transmission and distribution with strong commercial acumen to secure new projects.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities in power generation, transmission, distribution and substation projects.
• Develop and execute a business development strategy targeting developers, EPC contractors and utilities.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as SEC, NGC and other strategic partners.
• Monitor market trends, upcoming tenders and giga‑/mega‑project pipelines linked to Vision 2030.
• Lead client engagement from initial approach through proposal submission and contract negotiation.
• Collaborate with technical, design and engineering teams to ensure accurate and compelling proposals.
• Represent DAR Engineering at industry events, conferences and client meetings.
• Track and report on pipeline, win rates and revenue targets to senior management.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, including 3–4 years in sales, business development or marketing within the Power/Energy domain.
• Proven track record of securing new business with developers and contractors.
• Prior experience in Saudi Arabia with an established professional network is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Strong technical understanding of power generation, transmission, distribution and substation systems.
• Excellent business development, negotiation and relationship management abilities.
• Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and business development reporting tools.
