Capital Manager – Credit & Lending (CIB)

About the role

The Capital Manager will join the Credit & Lending division of SAB's Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) team in Riyadh. You will be the go‑to expert on capital efficiency, guiding relationship managers and senior leaders on how to structure lending to optimise returns while managing risk.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as CIB’s subject‑matter expert on returns metrics such as RWA, RoRWA, RoTE, density and velocity, and communicate trends to stakeholders.
• Raise awareness of capital consumption and advise relationship managers on more capital‑efficient lending structures.
• Lead and support capital‑efficiency initiatives that release RWA, improve RoRWA, lower density and increase capital velocity, including data management and capital reallocation.
• Own the CIB Loan Pricing Policy, ensuring it is commercially sound and enables relationship managers to negotiate within set boundaries.
• Maintain the Omnia Returns Calculator, liaising with Finance to align calculations with SAB’s RWA and capital reporting methodology.
• Act as final approver for loan pricing in the Omnia Returns Calculator, providing pricing comparables to senior management before loan origination.
• Advise senior leadership on portfolio‑level yields, margin trends, spread leakage by sector, currency and tenor, and ensure robust operational controls for loan margins.
• Identify low‑returning clients and collaborate with coverage teams to improve profitability.

Required profile

• Minimum five years (60 months) of experience in capital management, loan pricing and credit limits.
• Strong knowledge of weighted assets/RWA, Basel regulations, RAROC and capital optimisation techniques.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
