Chief Surveyor

About the role

The Chief Surveyor leads the surveying function for construction projects, ensuring all setting‑out, survey control and as‑built verification activities meet design specifications and regulatory standards. This senior position combines technical expertise with team leadership to drive accuracy, efficiency and innovation across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Direct setting‑out and survey control processes, aligning them with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee as‑built verification to confirm completed work matches project plans using advanced surveying technologies.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of surveyors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to define surveying scopes, timelines and deliverables.
• Review and validate survey reports and documentation to maintain high quality and accuracy.
• Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other mapping technologies to analyse spatial data and support project decisions.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in surveying within construction environments.
• Strong understanding of construction project workflows and regulatory standards.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
