Commercial and Contracts Manager

About the role

The Commercial and Contracts Manager will lead the drafting, negotiation and lifecycle management of complex contracts across the organisation. This senior position supports strategic business objectives, mitigates risk and ensures compliance throughout the tendering and project execution phases.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and review EPC, Design & Build, Construction, Framework Agreements, LOAs, LOIs, MoUs and Consortium Agreements.
• Provide strategic input on contract structures to optimise risk allocation and commercial outcomes.
• Ensure all contracts comply with local and international laws, company policies and Delegation of Authority.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve contentious clauses and guarantee enforceability.
• Participate in tender evaluations, identify contractual, legal and commercial risks, and advise on bid strategies.
• Maintain contract review sheets, risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Serve as primary contact for contract matters across Legal, Commercial, Procurement and Project Management teams.
• Oversee contract documentation lifecycle, version control and audit readiness.
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership on contract status, risk exposure and strategic opportunities.
• Mentor junior contract professionals and contribute to best‑practice development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of proven contract management experience in construction, engineering or industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of contractual law, risk management and commercial negotiation.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally and influence senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex construction contracts.
• In‑depth understanding of EPC, Design & Build and Framework Agreement structures.
• Proficiency in contract risk assessment and mitigation planning.
• Familiarity with local and international contract law and compliance standards.
