Commercial Director – Construction

About the role

We are recruiting a Commercial Director for a leading construction company in Makkah. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will shape and execute the commercial strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth and strengthen market positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s commercial strategy, business development plan and tendering approach.
• Lead client relationship management, strategic partnerships and pipeline development.
• Oversee commercial pricing, contract negotiations, claims and variation management.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance, FIDIC principles and best commercial practices.
• Prepare business plans, forecasts and monitor commercial performance.
• Manage and develop a high‑performing commercial team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of progressive commercial experience in construction, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record in securing major projects and building long‑term client relationships.
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency highly desirable.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, commercial negotiations and claims management.
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting and performance management.
