Control Room Operator – Air Separation Unit (ASU)

About the role

The ASU & Utilities Control Room Operator is responsible for day‑to‑day operation of the Air Separation Unit and associated utilities plants, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient production of green hydrogen and ammonia.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the ASU and utilities plants safely, supervising DCS, data acquisition and alarm management systems.
• Troubleshoot operating conditions, respond to normal and abnormal situations, and support plant shutdown activities.
• Monitor operational KPIs, perform daily and monthly routines, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Act as primary contact for H₂ and NH₃ production units, maintain control‑room housekeeping and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating ASU and/or utilities plants in a DCS environment.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays, and participate in on‑call rotation.

Required skills

• DCS operation and alarm management.
• Interpretation of PFDs, P&IDs, single‑line diagrams and shutdown matrices.
• Knowledge of work‑permit systems, confined‑space entry and lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
