Control Room Operator – Power Plant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Control Room Operator to oversee the safe and efficient operation of a combined‑cycle power plant. The role involves continuous monitoring of gas and steam turbines, HRSG, and auxiliary systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with operational limits.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust control systems for gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG and auxiliary equipment.
• Coordinate dispatch instructions from the Load Dispatch Centre and adjust generation to meet real‑time demand and PPA terms.
• Record operational parameters, prepare performance reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Follow safety procedures, participate in audits, drills and act as an emergency response team member.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, implement corrective actions and support the Shift Charge Engineer with isolations and PTW preparation.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering and operations teams and provide training to junior staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical engineering (or related discipline).
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years as a CCR Operator in combined‑cycle power plant O&M.
• Experience with Siemens gas‑turbine based CCGT plants is preferred.
• Fluent English; Arabic knowledge is a plus.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
