Cost Accountant

About the role

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for establishing and maintaining standard costs for manufactured products, analysing variances, and ensuring accurate inventory valuation. This role supports month‑end closing, pricing decisions and compliance with IFRS within a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain standard costing for materials, labor and overheads and update Bills of Materials and production routings.
• Monitor production costs, perform material, labor and overhead variance analysis, and analyse raw material consumption, scrap and efficiency.
• Execute monthly inventory valuation using FIFO, close inventory in the ERP system and coordinate physical counts.
• Prepare inventory reconciliations, related journal entries and support WIP and general ledger reconciliations.
• Produce product costing, profitability and manufacturing cost analysis reports to aid pricing decisions.
• Ensure adherence to costing policies, internal controls and IFRS requirements, and assist internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with production and finance teams to improve inventory accuracy and cost transparency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cost Accounting.
• 1+ years of experience in cost accounting or inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing company.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
