Cost Control Engineer

About the role

The Cost Control Engineer will monitor, analyze, and control project costs throughout the lifecycle of construction projects at alfanar Building Systems. You will work closely with project, procurement, contracts, QS, and finance teams to ensure budgets are met and financial risks are managed.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project cost control sheets, cost codes, and budget tracking registers, monitoring commitments, actual costs, accruals, and forecasts against approved budgets.
• Identify cost variances, analyse root causes and recommend corrective actions, supporting monthly performance reviews with budget status, risks, and savings opportunities.
• Track subcontractor and supplier commitments, invoices, payment certificates and evaluate variation orders, claims and cost impacts before approval.
• Coordinate with planning teams to align cost forecasts with project schedules and progress data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in cost estimating, cost control, and variance analysis within construction projects.
