Customs Studies Senior Specialist

About the role

The Customs Studies Senior Specialist prepares complex reports and studies related to fines and customs assessments issued by ZATCA. Working with minimal supervision, the specialist ensures data accuracy, supports committees, and contributes to the achievement of operational targets.

Key responsibilities

• Collect required documents and data from stakeholders within defined timelines.
• Prepare and verify case files, ensuring completeness and error‑free data entry.
• Correct data errors, including disputed items and physical discrepancies.
• Analyze case files related to ZATCA fines, highlighting reasons for imposition and delivering timely studies to committees.
• Analyze customs assessment cases from an accounting perspective and provide detailed studies.
• Produce accurate studies for consultation requests from Appeals Committees.
• Develop customs accounting opinions on tax laws and regulations.
• Generate periodic and customized reports for the section and submit them to management.
• Maintain and update the section’s database with relevant information.
• Report issues, propose action plans, and support junior staff in problem resolution.
• Train and supervise junior team members, delegating tasks and monitoring workflow.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in customs, legal or accounting studies.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to policies and procedures.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
