Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

The Cyber Security Engineer will work remotely on a contract basis to protect RMG and its clients’ systems, applications, and networks from security threats. The role involves assessing, hardening, and continuously monitoring security controls while supporting incident response and policy development.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and harden application, network, and information security controls.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and implement remediation plans.
• Monitor security events, analyze incidents, and support coordinated incident response.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Contribute to secure architecture and design reviews for new and existing solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional IT and business stakeholders to raise security awareness and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance on secure network design, firewall configuration, and intrusion detection/prevention.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or a related field; certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.
• Experience with security frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS) and familiarity with cloud security concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, clear written and verbal communication, and the capacity to work independently in a remote environment.
• Prior experience in IT systems integration or consulting environments in the Middle East is an advantage.

Required skills

• Network security design, firewall configuration, intrusion detection and prevention, network monitoring.
• Secure coding practices, application threat modeling, security testing of web and mobile applications.
• Vulnerability scanning tools, risk prioritization, remediation planning.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS standards.
• Cloud security concepts and implementation.
