Data Governance Expert

About the role

The Data Governance Expert will support the implementation and continuous improvement of stc's data governance framework. This includes overseeing data architecture, classification, lifecycle management, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and open data initiatives while ensuring compliance with national regulations such as NDMO and PDPL.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise data architecture aligned with business goals and stc Group standards.
• Monitor KPIs related to NDMO and PDPL maturity, identify gaps, and drive improvement actions.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the IAM framework, policies, and controls.
• Implement and enforce data governance policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Maintain up‑to‑date governance documentation in centralized repositories.
• Support data classification and lifecycle management, including retention, archival, and secure disposal.
• Execute open data management tasks: dataset identification, preparation, publication, and regular updates.
• Conduct quality reviews of open data and metadata to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Apply privacy and data‑protection controls to open data activities.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align open data publications with transparency objectives.
• Promote data‑governance awareness and identify opportunities for practice enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in data governance, data architecture, or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with Saudi data‑regulation frameworks (NDMO, PDPL) and internal governance standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and communicate governance concepts clearly.
