Design Engineer – Transformer

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer specialized in power transformers to lead design, repair, retrofit and service engineering activities. The role involves reverse engineering, fault analysis, technical documentation and ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reverse engineering of failed transformers for rewinding and refurbishment.
• Provide design and technical support for repair, retrofit and service projects.
• Prepare, review and maintain engineering drawings, design documents and BOMs using SAP.
• Conduct fault analysis, review inspection and failure reports, and analyse protection and control circuits.
• Develop technical proposals, tender documents and cost sheets.
• Maintain ISO documentation, work order records and ensure compliance with ARAMCO, SEC, NG and other standards.
• Coordinate with internal departments, customers and suppliers on technical matters.
• Support troubleshooting related to manufacturing, testing and service activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8‑10 years of experience in transformer design, service, repair, retrofit, manufacturing or testing.
• Strong knowledge of transformer design, protection systems and fault diagnosis.
• Familiarity with ARAMCO, SEC and National Grid standards.
• Preferred knowledge of oil DGA analysis.
