Director – AI Strategy & Portfolio

About the role

Our client is establishing a central AI Strategy function to align artificial intelligence investments with business priorities and deliver measurable value across multiple operating companies. Reporting to the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, the Director of AI Strategy & Portfolio will lead the development and execution of the Group’s AI strategy while overseeing the enterprise portfolio of AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Group’s AI strategy and oversee the AI initiative portfolio.
• Collaborate with business leaders to identify strategic opportunities, assess business cases, and prioritize AI investments.
• Maintain the AI project portfolio, measure business impact, and monitor delivery against strategic objectives.
• Allocate resources to initiatives with the highest potential return on investment.
• Establish AI governance frameworks, executive reporting mechanisms, investment evaluation criteria, and performance dashboards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, enterprise transformation, digital strategy, or AI programme leadership.
• Strong analytical capability, financial acumen, and portfolio management experience.
• Proven ability to engage senior executives across multiple business sectors.
• Experience within diversified organisations, consulting firms, or large‑scale enterprise transformation programmes (highly regarded).
