Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics

About the role

You will be Soar’s hands‑on leader for business intelligence and analytics, responsible for both strategic direction and the day‑to‑day analytical work that drives decisions across UX, credit, collections, investment, and operations. This director‑level individual contributor role blends leadership with deep technical involvement, ensuring the business receives trustworthy, decision‑ready insights.

Key responsibilities

• Set priorities and own the BI and analytics roadmap, aligning with business leaders and delivering end‑to‑end projects from question definition to adoption.
• Design, implement, and maintain the semantic layer, including event taxonomy, entity models, and metric definitions on Snowflake using dbt or equivalent.
• Write SQL, investigate performance changes, test hypotheses, and translate findings into clear recommendations for multiple departments.
• Develop and maintain executive reporting and departmental dashboards, measuring adoption and iterating based on value.
• Collaborate with department heads to define KPIs, resolve conflicting definitions, and maintain a practical business glossary.
• Curate semantic models for AI agents, build a golden‑question evaluation set, and work with the AI team to ensure accuracy.
• Construct customer‑journey models (sessionization, funnels, cohorts) linking mobile interaction, API calls, decisions, and outcomes.

Required profile

• Director‑level experience leading a BI or analytics function.
• Proven ability to work directly with business leaders to translate questions into analytical solutions.
• Hands‑on technical expertise combined with mentorship and hiring capabilities.
• Track record of delivering high‑impact analytical products that drive faster, better decisions.
