Engineering Technician

About the role

The Engineering Technician will support hotel operations by responding to guest repair requests and performing preventive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Working on‑site at Ummahat Islands, the role requires minimal supervision and strong problem‑solving abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of tools and equipment.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines visually and ensure proper shut‑off valve operation.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and communicate shift activities using approved procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and HVAC drawings.
• Perform complex repairs on MEP systems, air‑conditioning, refrigeration, pool heaters, and kitchen equipment.
• Apply lockout/tagout safety protocols before any maintenance work.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and act as Engineer on Duty when required.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering operations and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency in multiple technical domains (air‑conditioning, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• Solid understanding of safe tool usage and company safety policies.
• Capability to train others and handle Engineer on Duty responsibilities.
