ES&H Advisor – Incident Investigator for Ar Rjum Project

About the role

The Senior ESH Specialist will support the implementation of environmental, safety and health (ESH) management programs on the Ar Rjum gold mining project, ensuring risks to people, property and the environment are controlled through effective incident notification, investigation and corrective action processes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate incident notification, initial response, classification, investigation planning, evidence collection, root‑cause analysis, corrective‑action development and final reporting.
• Lead or participate in incident investigations, maintaining proper scope, team composition, evidence control, confidentiality and reporting timelines.
• Assist supervisors and construction teams in securing incident scenes, preserving evidence, identifying witnesses and maintaining factual investigation records.
• Prepare clear incident investigation reports, flash reports, lessons learned, safety alerts and management briefings.
• Track corrective and preventive actions to completion, verify field implementation and confirm effectiveness before closure.
• Maintain incident, observation, audit, assessment and corrective‑action records in IRIS.
• Support trend analysis of incident data, leading indicators and root causes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Promote open reporting of incidents, near‑misses, unsafe acts and conditions without blame.
• Provide technical ESH guidance to construction supervisors, contractors and workers on safe work practices, regulatory requirements and incident prevention.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an ESH discipline.
• NEBOSH certification.
• 6‑8 years of ESH experience in industrial construction or heavy engineering.
• 2+ years supervising a team of 3‑4 ESH professionals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to brief project leadership and convey lessons learned.
