ETL Engineer

About the role

ExeQut is seeking an ETL Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines that power our analytics and data platform. You will own the end‑to‑end ETL lifecycle, from extraction strategy through transformation, monitoring, and optimisation, while collaborating directly with business teams and international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, optimise and maintain full‑cycle ETL workflows.
• Define extraction strategies, cleansing rules and transformation logic based on business requirements.
• Write complex SQL queries for data retrieval, statistical analysis and performance tuning.
• Build automated ETL jobs using Python, Java and Shell scripting.
• Contribute to Hive‑based data‑warehouse design (ODS, DWD, DWS, ADS) and optimise storage structures.
• Integrate Hadoop, Spark and Kafka components into ETL pipelines.
• Monitor jobs, configure alerts, troubleshoot failures and resolve latency or consistency issues.
• Establish and continuously improve ETL operations standards.
• Partner with business teams for requirement analysis, solution design, data validation and quality initiatives.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of hands‑on ETL or data‑engineering experience.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and optimisation.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java or Shell) with working knowledge of the others.
• Experience with Hive and understanding of data‑warehouse layering concepts.
• Exposure to Hadoop, Spark or Kafka in a production or project setting.
• Professional English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to be based in or relocate to Saudi Arabia.
