Exploration Drill Rig Welder – Saudi National

About the role

The Exploration Drill Rig Welder will join the Exploration Department of a leading Saudi mining company. This development position is designed for a Saudi national to gain hands‑on experience in welding, fabrication and repair of surface and underground drill rigs, as well as workshop structures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with SMAW/arc and MIG welding activities on drill rigs and support equipment under supervision.
• Repair cracked or damaged brackets, guards, frames, platforms and other fabricated components.
• Measure, mark, cut, grind and fit steel parts for welding and fabrication.
• Inspect welds and fabricated parts for defects and report findings.
• Use welding machines, grinders, cutting tools, hand and power tools safely.
• Support field breakdown repairs while following isolation, hot‑work permit and fire‑prevention procedures.
• Read basic fabrication drawings, sketches and repair instructions.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools and work areas in safe condition.

Required profile

• Saudi national with a technical diploma or vocational qualification in welding, fabrication or mechanical trades (preferred).
• Fresh graduates accepted; 0–2 years of welding or fabrication experience.
• Basic practical knowledge of welding, cutting, grinding and metal fabrication.
• Ability to understand basic dimensions and drawings.
• Willingness to work in workshop, surface and underground environments.
