General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant will support the finance team with monthly closing, forecasting, budgeting and customer billing in a cheese manufacturing environment. The role requires strong analytical abilities and an organized approach to handling financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger records and prepare daily journal entries.
• Monitor production costs, raw materials consumption, and finished goods inventory.
• Review supplier invoices, purchase orders, and goods receipt documents.
• Reconcile inventory balances and support periodic physical stock counts.
• Assist in monthly closing activities, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Support cost analysis and variance reporting for cheese manufacturing operations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable VAT requirements.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
• CPA designation preferred.
