General Ledger Director

About the role

The General Ledger Director leads the General Ledger function, ensuring alignment with ZATCA’s accounting policies and strategic objectives. This senior position oversees the preparation of financial statements, chart of accounts, and forecasts while driving operational efficiency and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the General Ledger operational plan in line with the overall Accounting business plan and ZATCA strategy.
• Manage budgeting for the General Ledger function, monitor utilization, and report progress and challenges to top management.
• Maintain and optimise the general ledger system in coordination with IT & Digitisation.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, forecasts, and periodic closing processes (daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly) ensuring compliance with Ministry of Finance directives.
• Provide training and guidance on accounting and closing policies to other functions.
• Address audit findings from the General Court of Audit, enforce corrective actions, and ensure non‑compliance issues are resolved.
• Lead recruitment, mentorship, performance evaluation, and development of the General Ledger team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required); Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proficiency in professionalism, operational excellence, collaboration and communication, and accounting standards and practices.
