General Underwriting Manager

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled General Underwriting Manager to join a reputable and expanding insurance company in Riyadh. The role involves leading the underwriting of complex general insurance risks across multiple lines while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite complex general insurance risks (property, liability, engineering, etc.).
• Make autonomous decisions on upper‑tier risks within underwriting authority and reinsurance limits.
• Prepare, validate, and finalize quotations, policies, and endorsements.
• Work closely with actuaries, sales, reinsurance, and claims teams to optimise underwriting strategy.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting manuals, processes, and risk‑appetite guidelines.
• Represent the underwriting team in strategic meetings with brokers and corporate clients.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years of experience in general insurance underwriting in Saudi Arabia.
• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science or related field.
• IFCE certification required; CII or ACII certification strongly preferred.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Strong knowledge of reinsurance (facultative and treaty) and SAMA regulations.
