Hazmat Officer / Hazardous Materials Specialist

About the role

A leading medical group in Saudi Arabia is looking for an experienced Hazmat Officer to ensure safe handling, storage, transportation and disposal of hazardous materials across its facilities. The role supports emergency response activities and promotes a culture of safety within a healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor safe handling, storage, transport and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Maintain compliance with company safety procedures and local HSE regulations.
• Identify hazardous substances, assess risks and keep accurate inventories and safety records.
• Support emergency response for chemical incidents and coordinate with relevant teams.
• Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards and ensure proper use of PPE and emergency equipment.
• Deliver safety awareness and handling training to employees as required.

Required profile

• Relevant diploma, degree or professional qualification in Hazmat Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Safety or Emergency Response.
• Proven experience as a Hazmat Officer or Hazardous Materials Specialist.
• Preferably prior experience in the GCC region.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous material handling and safety procedures.
• Effective communication, reporting and emergency response abilities.
• Ability to work in a healthcare/medical setting.
