Inspection Engineer – Static Equipment

About the role

The Inspection Engineer will provide key support for inspection, failure analysis, design, construction, investigation, repairs and modifications of static equipment and piping at Saudi Kayan. The role ensures safe and reliable operation of plant assets while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to inspection engineers for failure analysis of static equipment and piping.
• Participate in turn‑around maintenance (TAM) and shutdown activities.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for major or chronic failures and propose long‑term solutions.
• Support risk assessments and review engineering packages for procurement, design & construction (PD&C) related to static equipment.
• Collaborate with RBI, process and operations engineers to create and implement an Integrity Operation Window (IOW) following API guidelines.
• Prepare corrosion loops and circuits for new and additional projects.
• Develop and review Critical Process Parameters (CPP) data, investigating any deviations.
• Assess modification or replacement needs of major equipment through ALA studies and technical evaluations.
• Review and approve vendor inspection activities, including welding and non‑destructive testing (NDT) documentation.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials or related discipline).
• Proven experience in inspection, failure analysis and reliability of static equipment and piping.
• Strong knowledge of API standards and integrity management practices.
• Ability to lead root‑cause investigations and risk assessments.
• Experience reviewing engineering packages and vendor inspection documentation.
