Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor will lead the instrumentation maintenance team for the NEOM Green Hydrogen plant, covering hydrogen, ammonia, ASU, utilities and jetty facilities. Reporting to the GH2 Maintenance Manager, the role ensures reliable operation of critical instrumentation in a high‑hazard environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of 10‑20 instrumentation technicians and planners, building the maintenance function and ensuring compliance with preventive maintenance plans.
• Drive performance metrics such as PM compliance, budget adherence, safety participation and regulatory compliance.
• Prioritise, schedule and execute daily, weekly and long‑term maintenance activities, including turn‑arounds and pre‑commissioning support.
• Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance reports and manage spare‑parts inventory in coordination with materials management.
• Develop technical specifications for contractor bids, manage contractors during turn‑arounds and oversee overtime approvals.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma or bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (preference for bachelor’s) with at least 15 years of instrumentation maintenance experience in the industrial gas, chemical or refining sector.
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience leading large technical teams and handling budgets.
• Strong safety focus, familiarity with hazardous‑area standards (ATEX, SIS, SIL) and compliance with KSA codes and statutory requirements.

Required skills

• ATEX competency and experience with safety instrumented systems (SIS, SIL).
• Instrumentation maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electric and pneumatic transmitters, switches, and control valves.
• Communication protocols: HART, MODBUS, PROFIBUS.
• Experience with DCS control, analyzers, and SAP PM (CMMS).
• Ability to read P&ID, electrical and logic diagrams; strong SAP and Excel skills.
