IT Network Security Officer

About the role

The IT Network Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the organization’s network infrastructure and ensuring business continuity. This role implements and monitors security controls, responds to incidents, and collaborates with IT and governance teams to maintain a resilient network environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, administer and monitor network security controls in line with ISO 27001.
• Manage firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, NAC, wireless security, DNS, DHCP and remote access solutions.
• Maintain secure network segmentation, access controls, routing policies and traffic filtering.
• Monitor and respond to network security incidents, conduct investigations and coordinate remediation.
• Ensure continuous network visibility through log management, SIEM integration and security monitoring.
• Perform security reviews, configuration audits, firewall rule assessments and vulnerability remediation.
• Support secure connectivity for third parties, cloud environments, VPNs and disaster‑recovery infrastructure.
• Assess security impact of network changes and participate in change management.
• Maintain documentation, incident records and audit evidence.
• Collaborate with IT Governance and compliance teams to meet security policies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 5–8 years of hands‑on experience in enterprise network administration and network security operations.
• Proven experience with firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs, wireless networks and secure connectivity.
