Land Surveyor – Infrastructure & Landscaping Projects

About the role

Parsons is seeking a talented Land Surveyor to join the team and work on infrastructure and landscaping projects. The role involves field surveying, data collection, and coordination with engineering and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct surveying activities to determine precise locations, elevations, and contours for construction and mapping.
• Research historical survey records, deeds, and maps to gather data needed for new surveys.
• Locate rights‑of‑way, topographic features, property lines, and boundaries in the field.
• Manage document‑management system by integrating historical records and maps.
• Approve permits for temporary removal or destruction of survey corners.
• Draft, check, file, and distribute field survey maps.
• Coordinate complex projects that require electronic measuring instruments and large survey teams.
• Compute and plat survey data, and develop specifications for statewide survey contracts.

Required profile

• BSc Surveying graduate or diploma in surveying.
• 5–7 years of experience in land surveying for landscape, parks, streetscape, and earthworks projects.
• Strong knowledge of surveying procedures, engineering formulas, and construction processes.
• Experience with road, infrastructure, and landscaping construction.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to lead project teams.
